Pack 8 Announcements - April 28th

Summer Camp Registration

  • All money, forms, pictures & health forms due today - See Heidi @ back table
  • Day Camp - Odd Fellows July 7-11, 9:00am - 5pm everyday
  • Camp Samwood - August 1-4
  • Cub parents are encouraged to participate with the boys

May 17 - Cub Scout Fun Day at the Lockport Caves

  • Saturday, May 17th @ 1:00pm
  • All cubs & their parents
  • $ 10/person - includes admission & patch
  • Registrations & payment due by May 2nd to Jennifer Seib - 465-0212

May 18 - May Hike  

  • Sunday, May 18th @ 1:00pm
  • Lockport Nature Trail - Slayton Settlement Road
  • Entire families invited
  • For additional information contact Bill Meyers

Bill Meyers will be leading us on our May Hike.

May 19 - May Pack Meeting

  • Monday, May 19 @ 6:30pm
  • Joint meeting with Pendelton Pack 47
  • Magic Show
  • Bring a dessert to pass 

May 26 - Lockport Memorial Day Parade 

  • Monday, May 26 (time TBA)
  • We need as many scouts as possible to represent Cambria in our bicentennial celebration
  • Please sign up at the back table 
  • Volunteer needed to help coordinate our scouts for that event

 

We are planning to take part in the Cambria Memorial Day Parade this year. Since this year is also the Town's 200th birthday we're looking for as many scouts and scouting parents to participate as possible. If you are interested in taking part in this Memorial Day event please contact Jerry Buzzeo at (716)210-8229 to sign up.

June 22 - Fishing Derby

  • Sunday, June 22 @ 12:00pm at Bonds Lake
  • Prizes and lunch will be provided
  • Scouts and their families are welcom
  • Bring a lawn chair and a dessert to pass

 

We are holding our annual Fishing Derby for the Pack this June 22nd at Bond Lake Park starting at Noon. The Pack is looking for donations for the derby.

 

If you are interested in donating any items the Pack would appreciate it. We are looking for bait, lures, hooks or anything we could use for prize bags for the participants. There will also be a cookout for the participants if you would like to make a donation of money or food items.

 

When donating, if you would like to include business cards, we will include them with the prize bags given to the participants. We will also have a flyer listing all people and businesses that donated to the derby.

June 29 - Fantasy Island Day

July 25-27 Summer Encampment

  • Friday, July 25 - Sunday, July 27 - Save the Date
  • Heidi to provide additional details
  • More information will be provided at the May Pack meeting
  • Scouts that met the $ 150 popcorn sale goal camp for free

Web Site Photo Permission Slips

  • Pictures will start being added to the site
  • If anyone would not want their child's picture on the site I will need a written request 

Blue and Gold

  • Largest Turnout Ever
  • Congratulations to each of the scouts that moved up & especially those who've achieved the Boy Scout level
  • Hats off to all of the volunteers who helped plan and work the day of the event
  • Many suggestions received about how to make next year's even better - If you have ideas or can help US make it better next year - see Beth P. to become a member of next year's B&G committee.

A True Leader In Our Pack

Beth Henry - Our Den 1 Leader, has been awarded the Towpath District Den Leader Of The Year Award. This is a very significant achievement because it recognizes one Den Leader across not only pack 8 but across the entire Towpath district each year whose dedication to boys in the Scouting program is outstanding. This Den Leader must be one who provided the best possible program for the boys in his/her Den. The award is for Den Leaders and Webelos Den Leaders.
